Please visit http://www.extension.umn.edu/food/food-safety/courses/ for more information regarding upcoming Serv-Safe trainings in Minnesota. Download the flyer here.
We have a great line up of presentations and speakers. We wanted to be sure to include sessions on STEM, literacy, food science, and technology as our world and our discipline evolve to meet the changing needs of our students and families. If possible, talk with your Perkins Coordinator in your district to see if there are staff development funds available for you to attend this year's conference! Download a tentative copy of the program here. The program is subject to change.
You can register for this conference online under Conference Registration page by using a credit card. Registering online helps MAFCS (and you) save on printing and postage costs. If you prefer or need to, click here to download a copy of the Registration form.
MAFCS will initiate the 20th anniversary of the International Year of the Family at the state conference in January through donations of canned goods-tuna, peanut butter, pasta & pasta meals, and dry breakfast cereals to support the charity of Sharing and Caring Hands. Sharing and Caring Hands supports families by providing meals, child care, transitional shelter (many with children), health care, employment, plus emergency needs. MAFCS is looking forward to kicking off the IYF anniversary with our members generous contributions of tuna, peanut butter, pasta and pasta meals, plus dry breakfast cereals at the state conference!
We will also be hosting Silent Auction on Friday. If you have something you’d like to donate to the silent auction, please arrive a little early prior to registration to drop off your item. The silent auction proceeds help fund and support students and professionals!
Also on Friday night we will be hosting an Awards and Recognition banquet for scholarship recipients and to honor the Teacher of the Year, Jeanne Bymark!
