By becoming a member of the American Association of Family & Consumer Sciences (AAFCS), you automatically become a member of your state affiliate (Minnesota Association of Family & Consumer Sciences – MAFCS). One membership fee covers both your national and state membership!

TYPES OF MEMBERSHIP
Professional (Members with a degree or professional level credential who support the field of family & consumer sciences. Professional category includes former Active, Ellen Richards Sustaining, and Associate memberships. This membership level includes registration for live webinars offered by AAFCS Professional Development Center). $150.00
First Year Professional Membership (Special introductory rate for the first year of Professional membership – one year only). $100.00
Emeritus (Members who meet the Professional category who are retired and at least 60 years of age). $100.00
Student* (Students enrolled full time as a post-secondary, undergraduate or graduate student; see HUGS on Student Unit page for special offer). $ 50.00
New Professionals - a new professional is defined as an individual in the first three years of an entry level professional position who no longer qualifies for the AAFCS student and/or new professionals membership.
*Students – join your FCS professional association now as a student and start benefitting from the networking with FCS professionals across the state and across the country! If you need help with paying the student membership fee, apply for a HUGS Scholarship (Help Undergraduate and Graduate Students). MAFCS accepts applications for HUGS Scholarship once each academic year — applications are due November 15th.
HUGS (Helping Undergraduate and Graduate Students) – To support and encourage the MAFCS pre-professional undergraduate and graduate student members. Please consider a contribution to sponsor a student who will attend the MAFCS and AAFCS conferences.
